Africa Foundation (a division of 1Africa Consulting) is proud to have worked with Imbokodo LaunchPad on a recent CSR initiative. Imbokodo LaunchPad seeks to address challenges faced by underprivileged youth in South Africa, and drive positive change through a community-centred,
principle-centred and character-based approach. Imbokodo LaunchPad (in partnership with 1Africa Foundation, Dear Bella and Talitha Cumi Camp) hosted a group of girls and young women from Johannesburg at “Camp Discovery”. The experience
was like none other, and included obstacle courses, scenic game drives and inspiring talks. The event finished off with the girls being treated to a celebratory gala dinner, where they could glam up after a day of outdoor adventure.
Jazzman Simelane, founder of Imbokodo Launchpad, states: “Youth Development and Empowerment is not an event, however a daily conditioning of the hearts and minds of youth. We are indeed shaped by how our minds are conditioned, Imbokodo LaunchPad will offer township youth an opportunity to be developed mentally on a daily basis through a number of structured
Out of School Time initiatives.”
