Description:
1Africa Consulting requires the services of an independent consultant in the capacity of a Sponsorship Consultant. The key objectives of the role are to identify potential sponsors and secure partnerships on behalf of our clients, with particular focus on the sports industry (soccer). The role may extend to other related needs. Remuneration is based on a commission-only structure (no basic salary), and the contract will be on a month-to-month basis. The primary client is based in Limpopo and Gauteng, however, there is no geographic restriction regarding location of sponsors.

– Ability to meet deadlines when required, including sponsor timelines
– An understanding of the sponsorship environment; including processes, procedures and best practices
– An understanding of the sports industry (soccer in particular) is beneficial
– Experience in a similar role is required. Experience in sponsorship within the sporting industry is beneficial
– This is an independent consultant position – own car, laptop, phone, reliable data connections, and related business necessities are a pre-requisite to apply

Job Description:
– Manage all tasks related to your current and potential sponsor database
– Work with existing consultants where needed to streamline processes
– Interaction with stakeholders at different levels (sponsors, clients etc.)
– Research and understand clients’ brands, as well as sponsorship processes and restrictions
– Research and maintain a list of potential and secured sponsors
– Attend meetings with sponsors / client as needed (physical and virtual)
– Attend status meetings, briefing sessions etc. with the 1Africa Consulting team (virtual and physical)
– Provide updates / feedback as required
– Develop and maintain relationships with secured sponsors over the course of sponsorship contracts
– Keep records / documentation of communication with potential and secured sponsors. All formal agreements / contractual arrangements are to be recorded in writing and signed by relevant parties
– Keep track of sponsorship expiry dates / renewal deadlines and proceed accordingly to retain existing sponsors as far as possible
– Respond to queries within a reasonable timeframe
– Adhere to internal / administrative processes
– Willingness to attend client events from time to time when necessary (to be discussed)
– As a representative of 1Africa Consulting, as well as client brands, professional conduct will be required at all times
